The entry for this church in Voorloopige lijst der Nederlandsche monumenten van geschiedenis en kunst. Deel VIII, I. De provincie Limburg (Amby-Meer), 1926, gives a history of the earlier church, demolished in 1933. A fragment of a stone baptismal font is now built into the exterior wall of the new church, atop one of the buttresses in the apse area. The fragment consists of a human head, its lower extension and part of the upper rim area of the basin, showing it as a round font. [NB: we have no information on the remaing parts of the font].
