A fragment listed in the Noordelijk Archeologisch Depot, Nuis [http://www.nadnuis.nl/#da1e65c1-85ac-4aae-9e64-52f47409b5df] [accessed 4 January 2022] as originally part of a head of a baptismal font from Zuidlaren, made of limestone between 1050 and 1500 [=Halfrond randfragment van een doopvont van carbonische kalksteen (determinatie dr. G.J. Boekschoten), met fragmentair menselijk gezicht[...] Afmetingen (cm) : d.(rand, tot Wülstring: 3,00-4,00cm. ; d.(Wülstring): 5,00cm. ; gr.l.(=straal): 23,00cm. [...] Gift van dhr. H.G. de Olde, Domineeskamp 8, Zuidlaren. Gevonden (11-1-1973) bij het graven van een verbindingssleuf tussen twee werkputten in het koor tijdens de restauratie van de Ned. Herv. kerk te Zuidlaren, gem. Tynaarlo. Literatuur : Leeuw, G. de. Een fragment van een laat-Middeleeuws doopvont uit Zuidlaren. NDV 98 (1981), p. 173-177."] The present baptismal font in this church is modern, the 1979 work of Bernard Franssens, of Schipborg. The stone font has large symbols of the Four Evagelists on the sides.
