Church Notes: 15thC church, built between 1437 and 1455 by the Teutonic Knights; radically renovated and tower added in 1853 -- listed church [Rijksmonument no. 16050] -- The St. Janskerk in Gemert is the only preserved Teutonic Order church of all the former commanderies in the Netherlands, which as such is still in use as a parish church.
The entry for this church in the Rijksmonumenten [https://rijksmonumenten.nl/monument/16050/st-jan-de-doperkerk/gemert/] [accessed 25 December 2021] reports a baptismal font made of limestone in the 15th century in it. The font consists of an octagonal basin decorated with a broad flat moulding and four human heads set at 90-degree angles, a plain round underbowl; raised on an octagonal pedestal base. Dome-shaped metal cover, also octagonal, with round finial.
