The entry for this church in Monumenten in Nederland. Drenthe (2001) [https://www.dbnl.org/tekst/sten009monu07_01/sten009monu07_01_0081.php] [accessed 13 December 2021] reports a baptimal font of ca. 1400 originally from the old St.-Nicolaaskerk. Door Huub D. Minderhoud's Kerkelijke scheiding bleef nog altijd bestaan of 10 September 2008 [http://oud-schoonebeek.nl/index.php/component/content/article/94-aparte-files/uit-huis-aan-huis/895-kerkelijke-scheiding] [accessed 13 December 2021] reports that the ancient baptismal font, the had been removed from the old church during the Reformation and used for centuries as a feeding trough and flower planter, was returned on loan to the present church in 1977 ["Ook de oude doopvont, in de Reformatie uit de oude kerk verwijderd en eeuwenlang als voer- en bloembak gebruikt, kwam in 1977 in bruikleen in de huidige kerk terug."] R. Steensma's Nieuwe Drentse Volksalmanak 2007, Sporen van de katholieke eredienst in Middeleeuwse Drentse kerken mentions three baptismal fonts of the first quarter of the 15th century at Roderwolde (the largest in the Netherlands), Schoonebeek and Zweeloo. The font has lost about half of its basin (upper end) and practically all the relief or carving it may have ahd on the basin sides, except for a roll moulding all around its lower end, atop the chanfered underbowl; the base is an octagonal pedestal and may be a [later?] replacement. No cover present.
