The replacement of an older stone font for a later metal one is reported in the BULLETIN des COMMISSIONS ROYALES D'ART ET D'ARCHÉOLOGIE (Bruxeelles), HUITIEME ANNEE, 1869: "Chaque nef latérale fut bâtie contre cinq chapelles. A baptismal font here of metal made in 1700 is noted in Erenderfgoed [https://inventaris.onroerenderfgoed.be/erfgoedobjecten/22097] [accessed 6 December 2021]. A baptismal font here made of soft stone was located in the south side of the church; a later font made of copper in 1700 is reported inside the baptistery. [NB: we have no information on the discarded stone font other than it being made of "pierre tendre" [cf. supra]]. Listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [http://balat.kikirpa.be/object/76306] [accessed 6 December 2021] as a baptismal font made of brass "Date: 1709 (ca) - 1709 (ca.) hoogte: 200 cm". [NB: there is an interesting object in town [cf. ImagesArea], a font-like object consisting of a large roughly hemispherical basin on a base of a number [12?] of bulls, a town sculpture donated by the traders and inhabitants of Maastrichterstraat to celebrate the 750th aniversary of the town, but reminiscent of a well-known font]
