Noted and illustrated in St. Laurentius Lembeck [https://www.lembeck.de/st.laurentius/kirche/] [accessed 26 November 2021] as a baptismal font made from 'Hohe Mark' sandstone ca. the time when the church was first documented in the 13th century; when a baptistery was added to the church in the mid-19th century this font was disposed of, serving as water trough in a horse farm , later as a garden planter by the church; in 1927 it was moved to the Heimatmuseum in old school at Lembeck; in 2003 it was restored to its baptismal funtion inside the parish church, in the chancel ["Aus dieser Zeit der ersten urkundlichen Erwähnung der Pfarrei St. Laurentius Lembeck stammt wahrscheinlich auch der archaisch anmutende Taufstein, der aus Sandstein der Hohen Mark gestaltet wurde. Der frühgotische Stil des grob behauenden Steins lässt jedenfalls auf die Entstehungszeit des 13. Jh. schließen. Jahrhunderte hindurch diente er als Aufbewahrungsbecken des Taufwassers und als Ort der Taufspendung. Als im 19. Jh. (1860) die Kirche um eine Taufkapelle erweitert wurde und dieser alte Taufstein nicht mehr dem Zeitgeschmack entsprach, entfernte man ihn aus der Kirche, und er diente lange Zeit als Pferdetränke auf dem Hof Abel in der Bauernschaft Strock und nach 1915 als Blumenkübel im Pfarrgarten. Ab 1927 stand er im Heimatmuseum in der alten Lembecker Schule (M. Steiger, Heimatkalender 2010 S. 134). Erst 2003 erhielt er wieder einen Platz in der Kirche und diente als Taufbecken. Seit der Neugestaltung der Kirche 2005/2006 steht er wieder an herausragender Stelle im Chorraum der Kirche."]
