Church Notes: a late-Gotic tower was added to the Romanesque abbey church here in the 1560s; the old was demolished and replaced by a new building in 1851 but the tower retained; enlarged in the 1910s, 1920s and 1950s
Listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [ttp://balat.kikirpa.be/object/52417] [accessed 24 November 2021] as a Romanesque baptismal font made of limestone in the 11th century. A communication from Pol Herman (e-mail of 24 November 2021) includes the baptismal fonts at Charneux, Sprang, Maasmechelen, Munsterbilzen, Tongerlo and Waanrode as somewhat similar examples of Mosan font design.
