The entry for this church in Voorloopige lijst der Nederlandsche monumenten van geschiedenis en kunst, deel VI, De provincie Zeeland (1922, p. 64) reports that the pulpit is upported on a stone baptismal font of the late-16th century. Equally the entry for this church in the Rijksmonumentenregister [https://monumentenregister.cultureelerfgoed.nl/monumenten/9974] [accessed 6 November 2021] notes: "Preekstoel en klankbord, snij- en paneelwerk, eerste helft 17e eeuw. De zeskante kuip rust op een achtkante stenen voet, wellicht oud doopvont." Photographs in the Rijksmonumenten.nl taken in June 1977 , however, show the stone font already removed from the pulpit and standing free inside the church [https://rijksmonumenten.nl/monument/9974/toren-van-de-johannes-de-doper/s-heer-abtskerke/] [accessed 6 November 2021].
