Baptismal font listed in Palissy [ref.: IM57003108]: "Fonts baptismaux [...] Grès (gris, monolithe) : décor en relief semi-méplat, décor dans la masse : taillé à motifs [...] Huit niches séparées par des pilastres dépourvus de bases et de chapiteaux et une neuvième ornée d'une croix sur une hampe [...] Ces fonts baptismaux sont antérieurs à la chapelle ; ils ont été datés des 9e-10e siècles par Franz-Xavier Kraus qui voyait l'un des plus anciens monuments chrétiens d'Allemagne. D'un type inhabituel dans la région, ils sont probablement du 11e ou 12e siècle. Reconnus localement comme un des premiers témoignages de la christianisation de la région, ils ont suscité des légendes et des pratiques superstitieuses : Au 19e siècle, les pèlerins qui venaient boire à la source voisine pour guérir de la gale, y déposaient. Une légende locale rapporte que les fonts baptismaux revinrent miraculeusement à leur place après qu'une famille d'anabaptistes eut voulu les transférer à la ferme voisine pour servir d'abreuvoir au bétail."
