Font Notes:
Pol Herman [e-mail of 22 October 2021] contributes a summary translation and notes: "The baptismal font is made out of a late 17th century sandstone ornamental vase with the arms of Willem van Borch and Habbina Elisabeth Alberda on the four sides. The vase comes from the Haykema castle (AKA the “borg”) at Zeerijp. (Apparently the vase was transferred to the castle (AKA the “house”) of Farmsum, when the Haykema castle was demolished in 1745 . The vase was retrieved in 1880 when dredging the mote of the castle of Farmsum. At that time the castle of Farmsum was in use as rectory. Recently, the baptismal font has been moved to the museum Menkemaborg at Uithuizen"
