The present baptismal font in this church appears to be a composite obeject of two (?) originally unrelated parts; the base is polygonal [octagonal?] and topped with round moulding; the basin is oddly shaped, with a square bottom but an octagonal top, the transition made by stops at the chamfers; the inner basin is round and has a drain hole, but the whole looks very much like the base of a column that has been converted into an awkward vessel now. There is no cover present but some of the drilled holes in the rim of the basin may have served as anchoring points for an earlier cover.
