Villanueva de Oscos No. 2

Holy-water stoup made of two stone parts: a plain cylindrical pedestal base and a decorated basin; the basin is quadrangular, three sides are rectangular but the front side is crurved and has a large grotesque(?) head with a drain exit at the mouth, If the mouth is indeed a drain exit the object would not have been originally a stoup but, more likely, a lavabo; the indentation around the inner border of the upper rim suggests a cover would have been in use.
