The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 19 September 2021] notes: "Su iglesia está dedicada a Santiago, apóstol, y es románica [...] La pila es románica con gallones, sencilla;" The entry for this church in the Enciclopedia del románico [www.romanicodigital.com] notes: "En uno de los nichos abiertos en el muro está depositada la pila bautismal románica. Un pequeño pie cilíndrico sirve de soporte a la copa circular que presenta amplios gajos circundando todo su perímetro. El reborde se destaca pero no presenta ningún motivo ornamental. Se trata de una más de las numerosísimas pilas de “gallones” o de “concha” que se hicieron en el período románico. De factura similar es la pila que se encuentra en el cercano templo de Orbañanos." No cover present but the upper rim of the basin retains two metal staples from an earlier cover.
