Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in Tynell (1913-1920) as a baptismal font of sandstone somewhat similar to the font at Söfvestad; Tynell (ibid.) notes that the Tygelsjö font was still covered in oil paint when moved to the new church [ca. 1904?]. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 950704F1] as a baptismal font made of sandstone in the 13th century; the SHM remarks on the total lack of paint traces and the 'freshness' of the carving and hints that the font in Tygelsjö's new church could actually be a replica of the medieval one. No cover present now but a low-dome cover appears on the font ca. 1900.
