The entry for this church in Tynell (1913-1921) reports that there was no medieval font in the church at the time, though one was entered in 1830 inventory. No entry for this site found in Rydbeck (1936). The font here is noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900630F4], where it makes reference to the two authors mentioned above, and suggests the font turned up after their time; only the basin has survived, a square tapering vessel of the 'palmettgruppen' mafe of sandstone ca, 1200; the modern replacement base follows the usual base type for this group of fonts, square and moulded; the decoration of the basin sides is also the sharacteristic of this design, a round arch-head on each side with a motif in it, short plain columns in the corners, rope mouldings framing the sides and a vine with three large linked palmettes above; as noted in the SHM entry, a large metal plate has been fitted at the top of the basin to hold the baptismal dish in place, but the original font, seen in some early photographs [cf. ImagesArea] had a wooden cover that fitted atop, without the present metal plate.
