Church Notes: documentation points to a church at Kiaby given by archbishop Eskil of Lund to the monastery of Vä in the 12thC; there may have been a wooden church here before the present one of the mid-13thC brick building; modified 15th and 18thC; restored 1938-1939.
Font Notes:
Noted in Brunius (1850). Described and illustrated in Tynell (1913-1921) as a baptismal font of the 'Hvitaby-Maglehemsgruppen' made of sandstone, the base of the Hvitabytypen. Noted in Rydbeck (1936) in her section on the Maglehem-Vitaby group of fonts. Noted in Reutersvärd (1967). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900626F3] as a 'Vitabygruppen' baptismal font made of sandstone ca. 1200. No cover present.
