Noted and illustrated in Tynell (1913-1921) as a baptismal font of the 'Hvitaby-Maglehemsgruppen' made of sandstone. Noted and illustrated in Rydbeck (1936) as a 'Vitabygruppen' baptismal font. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900709F2] as a 'Vitabygruppen' baptismal font made of sandstone ca. 1200, some of the motifs highlighted in gold paint, a later addition; in the broad vine that encircles the basin side are the bust of a mitred bishop, an Agnus Dei with a cross abd at least one fabulous animal or monster, possibly a dragon; the lions on the base appear to be with prey. No cover present.
