Church Notes: 12thC Viby kyrka changed its name to Gustav Adolf in 1778; tower replaced 1784; modified 1822, 1940, 1954, 1974, 1990, 1007-2008
Noted in Tynell (1913-1921) as a baptismal font in a 'Borrbygruppen'. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900628F1] as a 'ciborietyp' baptismal font made of limestone in the mid-13th century; the SHM entry points out to some cement reconstruction on it. Moved to its present location in 1971; an earlier photograph [cf. ImagesArea] showed the font in a cramped space at the foot of the pulpit stairs.
