Noted in Brunius (1850) as a baptismal font made of marble but later covered in oil paint. Tynell (1913- ) refers to Brunius comments and describes the decoration on the font, font that he attributes to the Blentarpsgruppen; Tynell notes that the motifs at the angles of the lower base appear to be animal heads [NB: the placename appears in Tynell as "Frenninge"]. No entry found for this font in Rydbeck (1936). Noted in Reutersvärd (1967). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900716F1] as a baptismal font made of limestone ca. 1200 by a regional workshop; the SHM entry remarks on cement repairs to one side and notes that the inner bottom of the basin has been clogged with cement so it is impossible to ascertain the presence of a drain hole. No cover present.
