Described and illustrated in Mackeprang (1941) as a baptismal font of granite with an inscription [cf. InscriptionArea] that identifies the maker(?), Hvicmanne; Mackeprang describes the decorative nitfs in this font as Rankeværk, and mentions some other fonts with similar or related ornamentation design at Kirkeby (Sunds Hr.) Herringe, Sanholt-Lyndelse and Vejle (Salling Hr.), and others; These granite fonts are not identical but they are mostly chalice-shaped and have a variety of decoration motifs and patterns on then, some of which are shared; this font has rowws of circles around the top and bottom of the basin side, with a Latin inscription [cf. supra] inserted in the bottom row; the underbowl has a patterned surface with a row of 'm' shaped scallops, and several roll mouldings below; the base, is almost a mirror image of the basin, except for the upper row of circles and the inscription, and its basin is more hemispherical in shape. No cover present. In its description of the baptismal font at Nørre Lyndelse Danmarks kirker [http://danmarkskirker.natmus.dk/uploads/tx_tcchurchsearch/Odense_3925-3980.pdf] [accessed 8 June 2021] refers to Mackeprang (1941) and notes some similarities between the two fonts, and the possibility that both may perhaps be by the Hvicmanne workshop, though the DK appears not to support the attribition of the Nørre Lyndelse font to Hvicmanne.
