Font Notes:
The later font of this church was moved to the Örebro läns museum in 1914. The description by B. Waldén (1929) in the museum entry [https://digitaltmuseum.se/021026787475/dopfunt] [accessed 22 May 2021] notes that the font, of which the basin and base have different dates, 1671 and 1771 respectively, is of the baluster type common in the 17th century, and was probably of "östgötsk tillverkning"; it is decorated with putti, animals and floral and foliage motifs; the small plinth is modern. In earlier photographs [cf. ImagesArea] it shows in use with a metal baptismal dish. The 'putti' mentioned in Waldén's description [cf. supra] are winged; among the animals at a least a rabbit and a lion. [cf. BSI entry for Hammar No. 2 for the medieval font of this church]
