The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 26 April 2021] notes: "Su iglesia, dedicada a la Asunción de Nuestra Señora, que ha sufrido reformas a lo largo de la historia, tiene base románica y fábrica renacentista [...] La pila es sencilla y deteriorada". The Enciclopedia del románico [www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/burgos_VILLOREJO.pdf] [accessed 26 April 2021] dates the church towards to the mid-13th century but does not mention the font in it. The font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin with a single moulding at the upper rim, raised on a round moulded base. No cover present.
