Noted and illustrated in Hallbäck (1959) as a baptismal font made of grey soasptone in the 13th century, uneven and of poor workmanship, with no drain; damaged. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 950817F2] as a baptismal font of the Dalslandsgruppen made of soapstone ca. 1200, in extremely battered condition; the upper rima area had broken off and was finished in cement; the whole shape of the font is askewed; the bottom of the inner basin is clogged with cement, so it is impossible to know whether there was a drain originally or not [cf. supra]; the remains of the old font are used in combination with a metal baptismal dish; the font is very short, only 45 cm tall, so it is raised on a tall wooden.plinth. No cover present. [NB: the medieval font was probably disused when the new church was built, or even before; a 1931 photograph of the interior shows a different font in use in the new church, but recent photographs [cf. ImagesArea] show the medieval font back in use, now in the new church].
