Font Notes:
Noted and illustrated in Hallbäck (1959) as a baptismal font made of soapstone in the 13th century; the author notes that the font was restored in 1950 when a segment was added to, or replaced in the pedestal base, which may account for the height of the font (85 cm), rather taller than most fonts of this type in Dalsland. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 930510F4] as a baptismal font of the Dalslandsgruppen made of soapstone ca. 1200; the SHM entry notes that the shaft section was newly added and that the font would have been much shorter originally. No cover present. [NB: there is photographic evidence [cf. ImagesArea] that font was located in the northeast end of the nave, next to the pulpit, between 1909 and 1946; it is now [ca. 2021] located in the southeast corner]
