Font Notes:
Noted and illustrated in Hallbäck (1959) as a baptismal font made of soapstone in the 13th century; this source notes that according to local tradition the font was made locally from soapstone quarried in Sannerud. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 930714F5] as a baptismal font of the Dalslandsgruppen, made of soapstone ca. 1200; the SHM entry further notes that the paint on the upper saw-tooth pattern is a later addition. No font cover present. [NB: a 1924 photograph of the font [cf. ImagesArea] shows the font located at the northeast end, by the pulpit; an undated photo in the VM Foto collection [cf. ImagesArea] shows the font at the west end of the nave; a 2004 photograph by Lars Bergström [cf. ImagesArea] shows the font in the southeast corner of the nave].
