Font Notes:
Hallbäck (1959) notes a medieval font made of soapstone in the 13th century; it is decorated with the simple motifs characteristic of this design [cf. infra]; there is drain hole is in the centre of the basin but it appears to exit through the outer side, which suggests to this author the two parts of the font did not belong together originally [NB: another possibility is that the basin was used elsewhere for a time, perhaps as a water-trough in the churchyard, hence the side drain, a common happening]; Hallbäck (1959) also reports a 25 cm base fragment of a sandstone font with foliage decoration [NB: could it be the font from the disappeared nearby church at Östanå?]. The main font here is noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 930711F3] as belonging to the Dalslandsgruppen, made of sopastone ca. 1200
