Church Notes: original church believed to be one of the early brick churches of Dalsland built in the 13thC; present church is a 1799 replacement built 300 m S of the old site, in stone but re-using some bricks from its medieval predecessor;
Noted and illustrated in Hallbäck (1959) as a baptismal font made of red-grey sandstone in the 13th century, its floral/foliage decoration similar to that on the font at Bolstad. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 930710F4] as a baptismal font made of sandstone in the second half of the 12th-century by a regional Västergötland workshop. The font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with a broad band of decorative floral/foliage pattern below the uppe rim, raised on a round-to-square base decorated with a roll moulding atop. No cover present. The baptismal dish in use with the font is a 15th-century Nuremberg brass work.
