Church Notes: present church 1875 replaced an earlier one
Noted and illustrated in Hallbäck (1966) as a baptismal font made of sanstone ca. 1300 in a style inspired by some of the fronts from Gotland. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 920706F1] as likely a close replica of the Gotland 'musselcuppstyp', but made of sandstone in Västergötland in the second half of the 13th century; the patination and gilding are a later additions. No cover present. The font is now [ca. 2021] located in the southeast corner of the nave but an earlier photograph [cf. ImagesArea] shows it located in the centre, just up the chancel steps.
