design element - patterns - ribbed - concave - with inserts

Scene Description: notice also the damage to the upper rim; it must have been caused by a metal anchoring from an old font splitting the stone

Scene Description: the image shows the base inverted [flipped vertically] -- eas this originally the basin of another font re-cycled as base of this one?

Church Notes: present church is from the Baroque period/style
Oscar M. Ruiz Pérez, in Cantabria Románica [www.cantabriaromanica.com] notes: "A la Iglesia de Santa Marina de Coroneles solo le queda de sus orígenes románicos esta magnífica pila bautismal." The present font consists of a bucket-shaped basin decorated with a pattern of concave ribbing or fluting with inserts all around, on a round-to-square base with corner decorations; the baset appears unmatched and may actually be a former basin from another font re-cycled here as the base for the present one. No cover present.
