Described and illustrated in Hallbäck (1966) as a much-damaged baptismal font of sandstone with figural and ornamental decoration that huamn figures, quadrupeds and other shapes; Hallbäck's entry for the font at Södra Björke in the same source mentions that the font of that church is from the same group as this one [cf. BSI entry]. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 920612F2] as a baptismal font made of sandstone ca. 1200 by a regional workshop; in relation to the present measurements the SHM points out that trimming has occurred at the upper rim area, therefore the font was originally taller. No cover present. Noted and illustrated in the Kringla Riksantikvarieämbetet entry for this church [www.kringla.nu/kringla/objekt?text=renässans&filter=provinceName%3Dvästergötland&referens=raa/bbrb/21420000028661] [accessed 13 January 2021] as a baptismal font of the 12th-13th century with carved scenes that include persons and animals; it had been for a time in the vapenhuset [porch]. [NB: the font is now [2020] located in the southeast corner of the nave but there is photographic evidence [cf. ImagesArea] that is was located at some point at the foot of the pulpit, across the aisle, on the north side; it would have been originally near the entranceway to the church]
