design element - architectural - arcade - round arches - 12 arches - columns - columns with capitals
Scene Description: a very 'organic' arcade, as they are in this group of fonts; each 'capital' is a circle with an enclosed bead in it; the 'columns' have no bases but tie with each other at the bottom

Noted in Hallbäck (1963). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 950829F2] as a Starrkärrsgruppen baptismal font made of soapstone in the late-13th century; the basin is of quatrefoiled shape with vertical sides, each lobe with three arches, each arch housing a Tree of Life [="livsträd"], a total of twelve; the underbowl has a sigle thin moulding at the bottom; the pedestal base has a tetrafoiled stem with a moulding at the lower base. No cover present. An unconfirmed source without references [https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landvetters_kyrka] [accessed 5 January 2021] suggests that it was made in the late-13th century in the Cistercian monastery of Ås, and that the decoration on its sides originates from the Holy Land, where French crusaders found the pattern and took it home to their land.
