Font Notes:
Noted in Hallbäck (1971). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 920702F4] as a baptismal font consisting of a round slightly tapering basin made of sandstone raised on a round splaying pedestal base made of limestone; 13th-century provincial work. The font is indeed of very crude workmanship; the sides of the basin are divided into panels by an arcade of wide almost flat arch-heads on sketchy columns; one of the panels of the basin appears to show a quadruped at a large plant or tree [Tree of Life?], whereas the others are filled with an interlace of linked circles very crudely rendered; the base, of a different material, as noted in the SHM entry [cf. supra], is almost pear shaped, with vertical striations all around and a single moulding. It could very well be a composite object, as the total height [102 cm] might suggest. No cover present.
