Font Notes:
Noted Hallbäck (1963). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 920701F2] as a Dalslandsgruppen baptismal font made of soapstone in the second half of the 12th century. Baptismal font consisting of a slightly tapering square basin decorated with a band of arrow-head motif all around just below the upper rim; the side panels are delineated by vertical and horizaontal grooves; there is a quadrangular extension of the underbowl that appears to be part of the basin block, a sort of squat stem; the base is also quadrangular, a narrow volume with diagonal pipes followed down by the lower volume, also quadrangular and wider, now much damaged; the font is now raised on a modern square plinth. No cover present.
