Noted in Hallbäck (1971). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 920524F3] as a baptismal font made of sandstone in the second half of the 12th century; the SHM entry notes a horizontal crack through the basin and that it has been repaired with cement. The font consists of a roughly cylindrical basin decorated with a pair of rope mouldings between which are a number of human figures and semi-figures, some alone, some in pairs, in an arcade of round arches; some of the figures bear objects: one appears to have a censer in fron, another holds a bishop or abbott's staff; in one arch two figures lean toward each othe with reaching extended arms across a square object, perhaps and altar or a table; also on the side but not framed in the arcade, is a long winged dragon or serpent faced by a tiny human figure; the base is round at the top, with a roll moulding immediately below, turning to a roughly square shape below the moulding; the sides of the base appear to have been altered and may have had some carving on them; it is roughly shaped like a cushion capital. No cover present. The font appears disused and semi-hidden beneath the pulpit in some early photographs but it now [2020] located in the southeast corner, to the right of the altar.
