Noted in Hallbäck (1966) as the surviving fragment of a medieval stone font here. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 920609F8] as the fragment of a baptismal font made of sandstone ca. 1200 by a provincial workshop; the SHM entry gives the height of the fragment as 56 cm, obviously not its original height; the SHM further notes that, given the partial remain, it is not possible to ascertain whether the original basin had a drain or not, and gives its location as "förvaras nu i kyrkans redskapsbod". The entry for this church in Svenska kyrkan [www.svenskakyrkan.se/sandhult/bredareds-kyrka] [accessed 25 November 2020] informs that the font now located at the east end of the nave, south side, is a copy of the medieval font of which only a fragment of the basin has survived [cf. supra]; the copy was designed by architect Axel Forsén and made by Erling Valldeby in 1952; also in this church is a wooden font of the 19th century; it is located at the west end of the nave [="Dopfunten är tillverkad av Erling Valldeby 1952. Den är ritad av arkitekt Axel Forsén och är en kopia av den gamla medeltida dopfunten. Ytterligare en dopfunt finns nertill i kyrkan. Denna är från 1800-talet och tillverkad i trä."]
