Church Notes: a church here mentioned in 893 but the source is suspect; it is documented in a reliable source in 1019; 11thC church; by mid-18thC it was semi-abandoned in favour of the newly-built Nuestra Señora del Rosario / Mare de Déu del Roser, today's Sata Cecilia; totally abandoned in 1950; much damaged; lost the north wing and corresponding apse; partly restored 1980-2008
Font Notes:
A font in the cloister of the Seo de Urgel is illustrated in Catalunya romànica (1984- , vol. VI: 387), the very weathered basin of a medieval (?) baptismal font serving then and now [2020] as an ornament in the centre of the garden in the cathedral cloisters. This font was originally from the parish church at Estamariu. The large basin is roughly hemispherical and has a large notch cut into the upper rimside to attach e font cover lock there. The quadrangular plinth on which it now sits in the centre of the cloister gardens appears modern.
