Hallbäck (1971) as a Bolumgruppen baptismal font. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 920707F4] as a baptismal font made of sandstone in the mid-12th century a provincial work; the SHM entry notes Hallbäck's attribution to the Bolum, and remarks on the similarity between this font and the one at Friggeråker [cf. BSI entry]. The roughly square [64 x 70] basin has an irregular and unfinished base, as if it had been inserted into a wider hollow base; the spandrels on the upper surface are decorated with vegetal motifs; the panels are all carved and have a frieze of round arch-heads acroos the upper side; one of the sides appears to be a sampler of motifs and patterns (saw-tooth, arcade, reticular, chequered), another has a Gren Man's head with a branch in its mouth, another has a dragon [image is oddly missing in the SHM's entry, as it was in the entry for the Friggeråker basin] and the fourth has a palmette vine. This font is, as indicated in the SHM entry [cf. supra] very similar to the one from the medieval church [now demolished at Friggeråker [cf. SHM and BSI entries for that font].
