Gratum Deo obsequium impendere credimus, quociens eius fideles ad pietatis opera excitamus. Cupientes igitur, vt ecclesia Vbby congruis habeatur reuerencia et honoribus, omnibus vere penitentibus et confessis, qui eandem ecclesiam causa deuote oracionis vel peregrinacionis visitauerint, missas aut alia diuina in ea audierint, eius cymiterium pro defunctis orando circumierint, sepulturis mortuorum ibidem interfuerint, vel qui ante ymagines consecratas in ipsa ecclesia constitutas oracionem dominicam et salutacionem angelicam flexis genibus deuote dixerint, aut qui corpus dominicum et sacrum oleum, dum ad infirmos deportantur et ad ecclesiam reportantur, sequuti fuerint, seu qui ad fabricam dicte ecclesie manus suas quomodolibet porrexerint adiutrices, vel pro luminarium, vestium, vasorum sacrorum vel aliorum eius ornamentorum sustentacione et reparacione sua caritatiua dona tribuerint, et qui ad pulsum campane post missam vel de sero Aue Maria cum geniculacione deuote legerint trina vice, illis eciam qui pro felici statu regni Suecie, ecclesiarumque nostrarum atque nostro Deum pie exorauerint, quociens premissa vel aliquid premissorum deuote fecerint, tociens nos de omnipotentis Dei misericordia et beatorum Petri et Pauli apostolorum eius auctoritate confisi xl dierum indulgencias de iniunctis eis penitenciis in Domino misericorditer relaxamus. A B&W photograph taken by Sanfrid Welin in 1894 [https://digitaltmuseum.se/021017193080/1m16-a9568] [accessed 2 October 2020] shows a fragment of stone with decorated sides; the caption reads: "Utby socken. Vadsbo härad. Västergötland. Utby kyrka. Bit av dopfunten." [NB: we have no information on the present [2020] whereabouts of this fragment]. The present font in the church is modern: a plain cylindrical basin on a moulded circular pedestal base and a square plinth; it dates from ca. 1927.
