Listed in Dahlberg (1998: 115) as a baptismal font of the "Skalundagruppen" type [cf. Index entry for Skalunda]. Baptismal font shown in an undated B&W photograph by Karl Brynolf Hellner, in the Kulturmiljöbild, Riksantikvarieämbetet [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Skånings-Åsaka_kyrka_-_KMB_-_16000200166656.jpg] [accessed 10 September 2020]; the font consists of a roughly cylindrical basin descorated with a large vine-like pattern all around; the vine is made of palmettes and fruits; the chamferred underbowl appears blank; it is raised on a round pedestal base decorated with a roll moulding atop. The font is said to have been discovered in a local garden where it was being used as a planter. A later but also undated photograph of this font is listed [1M16-35395] in the VGM Föremål, Västergötlands museum [https://digitaltmuseum.se/021028479595/dopfunt] [accessed 10 September 2020]; the entry in the VGM notes that it [the font? / the photograph?] was sold to the museum by Anton Sanfrid Rydén; the photograph shows the full font in what appears to be a storage area of the museum. [NB: cf. BSI entry for Skånings-Åsaka No. 1 for the medieval font in use in this church].
