Church Notes: medieval parish church of Kattunga demolished in 1826 but the cemetery remained active; new chapel built in 1962 at the S end of the cemetery and used for baptisms, funerals, weddings and some other services in summer
Hallbäck (1966) reports three fonts associated with the church at Surteby; of the three one is a basin believed to be from the original church at Kattunga, and was returned there in 1962; it is a cylindrical basin the sides of which are decorated with a two-strand interlace; plain rounded underbowl; attributed to master Andreas's workshop. The missing base has been replaced by a modern one made of wood and painted grey, and the font is now [August 2020] located and used in the modern chapel.
