The entry for this chapel -originally a parish church- in Ernst Fischer, Sveriges kyrkor, Västergötland reports and illustrates a 12th-century baptismal font of sandstone located at the time in "Tranebergs gård" [="Dopfunt av sandsten (fig. 38). Rund, oornerad s kål. 1100talet. H. 70 cm., Diam. 58 cm. - Funten flyterrassen bakom Tranebergs huvudbyggnad."]. The font, which appears to consist of two blocks, has a cylidrical basin with plain sides and a chamferred underbowl with a moulding at its bottom end; the base is round-to-square in shape, the round part moulded. The font is shown in a photograph taken 24 August 2017 by Kerstin Larsson, in Svenska kyrkan [www.svenskakyrkan.se/sunnersberg/sta-marie-kapell] [accessed 5 August 2020], somewhat cleaned up and restored to use, inside the church.
