animal - mammal - quadruped

Scene Description: seen on the left, here -- the position of this quadruped, facing left and vertical, but not standing on its hind legs, may or may not be related to the the previous [left] circle; the identity of the quadruped is also in question: two of the legs may be claws, but one looks like a hoof; the head has two protruding things that may be ears, while the horn-like object above its head, neck and back may be one of those foliated tail-ends characteristic of lion depictions on fonts, as one end of the object disappears behind the animal's back and suggests a continuation between the hind legs

human figure - male - standing - holding object - flower?

Scene Description: very similar to the one on horseback three circles to the left; the flower-holding here may relate to the figure that stands to the left of the Agnus Dei -- Fischer (1922) describes this as a man with the same beard and curls as no. 1 a twig in hand. Possibly Staffan as a martyr, exposed to wildlife. The twig = palm (?) Could indicate martyrdom. Wild animals (nos. 4 o. 5) occur in connection with Staffan's martyrdom of a Gottlandsfunt [cf. Church Notes: medieval church; damaged in 1626 fire; modified and expanded 1766; partly demolished in 1843; remains are in the Senäte kyrkoruin site near rector's house; present church 1854 built on new site
The old church here is entered in Fischer, in Sveriges kyrkor (1922), under Senäte, as an annex to Otterstad, with a Romanesque font of sandstone found at the old Senäte churchyard, and later repaired with cement and moved to Otterstad; the description of the iconograohic programme is given thus: 1) A mounted man, possibly St Staffan. 2) A man with a sword (Herod?) 3) A man with the same beard and curls as no. 1 a twig in hand. Possibly Staffan as a martyr, exposed to wildlife. The twig = palm (?) Could indicate martyrdom. Wild animals (nos. 4 o. 5) occur in connection with Staffan's martyrdom of a Gottlandsfunt 4) A dragon. 5) A four-legged animal. 6) A man with halo; a trefoil(?) in his hand. 7) Lamb of God. [="1. 7. Guds lamm.] Fischer (ibid.) comments about how the programme on this font relates -though later- to several other fonts, and to Lombardic models present in Lund cathedral, and mentions Roosval datings to the 11th or early 12th centuries [="Framställningen synes vara en degenererad efterbildning, som knappast kan tydas, innan förebilderna upptäckts. H. 70 cm. Diam. 60 cm." Noted in Hallbäck (1971) also under Senäte. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 920520F3] as a Skaragruppen(?) baptismal font made of sandstone in the second half of the 12th century; there are some cracks on it and repairs done poorly in cement. No cover present.
