Church Notes: first documented 1126; became a dependant of the Benedictine monastwery in 1394; re-building started 1402; consecrated 1487; became Lutheran in 1530; restored to Catholicism in 1629; survived WWII bombing undamaged
The present font in this church is from 1762 [NB: we have no information on the font of the medieval church documented 1126]. [cf. BSI entry Kitzingen No. 1 for the late-Gothic font in the Protestant church]
