One of two baptismal fonts in this church now. Noted and illustrated in the SHM’s database Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 920523F2] as a baptismal font made of sandstone in the late-12th century by a provincial hand. Some photographers of the Riksantikvarieämbetet identify the material as limestone [cf. image captions in the ImagesArea]. The font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with a band of vine motif all around, and a rope (?) moulding below, but also part of the basin block; the base is round-to-square, the sides shaped like a cushion capital; it has beatifully rendered triquetra symbols on the shoulders of the base. No font cover present. This font is located at the east end of the nave, south side, and appears to be the font in regular use for baptisms, provises with a wooden(?) frame that supporst a small round metal baptismal dish.
