Font Notes:
The present font in use consists of a cylindrical basin with a rounded underbowl, all plain, raised on a round-to-square base with corners that, though eroded now, may have had motifs and possibly a human head on the lower end; raised on a plain and tall quadrangular plinth; the font may have had a central stem, now lost, hence the need for a tall plinth to raise it to a functional height. On this present font the photographer Västgöten writes that it did not originally belong to this church, as it had been robbed of its furnishings and burned down in the Nordic Seven-Year War (1563-1570) [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Medeltida_dopfunt_i_Gudhems_kyrka,_den_6_juli_2012.JPG] [accessed 6 June 2020]: "Medeltida dopfunt i Gudhems kyrka, den är ej ursprungligen tillhörande kyrkan, vars inventarier till största delen berövades och brändes ned under det nordiska sjuårskriget 1563-1570."
