Noted in Cornell (1918), Roosval (1918), Swartling (1964), Kennerstedt (1979) and Karlsson (1989). The caption for a 1964 photograph of this font by Åke Nisbeth, in the Kulturmiljöbild, Riksantikvarieämbetet [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Gävle,_Heliga_Trefaldighetskyrkan_-_KMB_-_16000200031211.jpg] [accessed 18 May 2020] reads: "Dopfunt av sandsten. Omkring mitten av 1100-talet." Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900928F1] as a "Mälardalsgruppen" baptismal font made of sandstone in the early-13th century. This font is noted and illustrated in Ulf Boéthius' article 'Botkyrkamonumentet, stenmästaren Karl och stenhuggarverkstaden i Sigtuna', in Fornvännen 16-28, fig. 18. Boëthius (ibid.) further notes the similarities between the work on the Flasta fragment and the fonts north of Mälardal, especially those at Lex, Sånga, Ytter-Selö and Järfälla, and he singles out the font in the Heliga Trefaldighets church, in Gävle, by the "Gävlefuntens mästare". The same author points out links and similarities with the fonts of several other workshops.
