Noted and illustrated in Hallbäck (1966) as a sandstone font moved to the SHM ca. 1878. Noted and illustrated by Maja Lundquist in Roosval (1917) with date in the late-13th century, and located at the SHM since 1878; the measurements given in Lundquist (ibid.) given a total height of 78 cm, which suggests a part of the original base may have been lost. Noted and illustrated in the SHM’s database Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 950517F1] as a sandstone baptismal font made by a regional hand ca. 1200, now in the SHM with inventory number 6332. The basin is toughly cylindrical with a plain rounded underbowl; the sides of the basin are decorated with a well-rendered acanthus vine; above one of the loops of the vine is carved a Maltese cross; the centre ring is a thick rope moulding and the squat base appears to be square and plain. No cover present.
