Described in Utställningen av äldre kyrklig konst i Uppsala 1918: Katalog (1918) as a sandstone baptismal font of the 12th century; the cylindrical basin has five arcades on the sides, three of which contain figural representations, while the other two contain 'fabel'; the base is decorated with three heads and one frog-like animal. Dated 12th-century in Wilcke-Lindqvist (1957). Noted and illustrated in the SHM’s database Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 940714F3] as a baptismal font of the 'Mälardalsgruppen' made of sandstone in the late 12th century; the SHM entry identifies an Annunciation scene, a possible Visitation to the right of it, while the scene to the right of the Visitation, appearing to contain two facing humans, is labelled unidentified; of the four corners of the base one is identified as a lion's head, another as possibly a demon's head. The font consists of two blocks, a cylindrical basin the sides of which have scenes and animals in a much-eroded arcade; the tall chamfered underbowl is plain; round base with a broad moulding [rope?] atop a roughly conical base decorated with four protruding items (one climbing animal?, two animal heads and a human head). There is no cover present. The metal baptismal dish bears an inscription with the Örnehufvudska coat of arms, the initials A Ö and the year 1649.
