The entry for this church in Meyrick (1808) reports it as a "newly erected" chapel of ease of Llanarth. The entry for this church in COFLEIN [https://www.coflein.gov.uk/en/site/105619/details/st-inas-church-llanina] [accessed 14 Jauary 2020] notes: "The church was not a parish church during the medieval period, but a chapelry belonging to Llanarth parish [...] By 1833 the church had become a parish church [...] The form of the pre-nineteenth century church is unknown. The church was rebuilt around 1810, on the same site and in the same location as its predecessor, but retaining nothing from the earlier fabric. The font is thirteenth century in date, and probably derives from the earlier church. Its arcaded decoration makes it one of the earliest arcaded fonts in Wales." Evans (1914) mentions no font in this church. The font consists of three volumes: a rounded slightly tapering basin with a possible octagonal upper end, raised on a slithgly splaying round pedestal base and a square lower base; there is a metal band around the lower end of the basin, possibly there to prevent [further?] cracking on the underbowl area; the underbowl area shows some rugosities [irregularities] under the thick whitewash coat, but we cannot discern any of the arcading noted in the COFLEIN entry [cf. supra]. The pyramidal cover with a cross finial is modern.
