In the entry for Henvynyw [Henfynyw] St David's church Evans (1914) writes "The Bowl of the stone Font, formerly in use in this ancient church, is now preserved in the porch of Holy Trinity, Aberaeron". The entry for this church in COFLEIN [https://coflein.gov.uk/en/site/418342/details/st-davids-church-henfynyn] [accessed 5 January 2020] notes: "St David's church, Henfynyw was built on the site of a medieval church, formerly a chapelry, which became a parish church during the post-medieval period. It was entirely (re)built in the 19th century, but nothing was retained from the earlier fabric. [...] The font is twelfth-thirteenth century in date, and is similar in style to that at St Ffraid's Church, Llansantffraid (NPRN 96045) and St Bledrws' Church, Betws Bledrws (NPRN 418245)." The illustrattion included in COFLEIN's entry for Aberaeron [www.coflein.gov.uk/en/site/306602/details/holy-trinity-church-aberaeron] [accessed 5 January 2020], a reproduction from the RCAHMW [NMR Catalogue Number : C600120 / File Reference : AA51/5812], shows an ancient stone font, likely the one from Henyvyw mentioned in Evans [cf. supra]. [NB: was the old font held in the porch at nearby Aberaeron's Holy Trinity, eventually returned to Henfynyw St. David's?]
